  • I REALLY hope big business is listening to the truth coming from McConnell's mouth on his attitude, and the Republican attitude, toward Corporate America. It's wonderful to hear some truth occasionally escape from Republican politicians' mouths.

  • Mitch McConnell flip flops more than a fish laying in the bottom of a boat gasping for its last bits of oxygen. McConnell, like said fish, knows his days are numbered and that he is losing relevence. He is a dispicable person who has shown time and time again that he has no morals or ethics and can not be trusted, just like many of his Republican comrades. If there was anyone that is a poster child for term limits for all politicians, it's Mitch McConnell. Every time he opens his lieing mouth he reinforces this view since he has done little more than obstruct for 6 terms.

Even the Left balance the taxes on the line that will keep them from moving. And we accept that some will still move and we make the choice to accept that they will. When they voted for this bill, they made their choice. According to him now, we should be able to increase taxes as high as we want and they shouldn't be able to move out because of said law?

On and on, and it's ok with me for corporations to stand for something in favor of oppressed groups and support and share light on groups in good faith. • Corporations are NOT people. People don't get fined when they make decisions that kill other people. When corporations put other corporations out of business or, in my opinion, even worse, lead to the deaths of actual flesh and blood people, there is no way to incarcerate the corporation, try, and execute them for murder, even though they are more than capable of committing it. If spending money is classified as free speech, individuals committing bribery should be legal, and a corporation paying a fine as a result of killing someone would be comparable to limiting their free speech, not executing them as would be prescribed by law for anyone else convicted of a capital crime. When "Freedom Industries" poisoned the water supply of hundreds of thousands of people in 2014 when it was found that their chemicals were leeching into Elk Creek in West Virginia, they filed for bankruptcy and didn't have to even pay for clean up let along pay damages to all the families of the people whom they killed with their negligence. They have since shut down the company and reopened pretty much the same exact company with the same addresses and the same corporate structure. This doesn't happen with people. If a person-person was to poison a major water supply in the United States, they would be thrown into Gitmo as a terrorist. They wouldn't just tell him to pay the damages, then have him file for bankruptcy and carry on his merry way. Corporations aren't people!

It currently means Big Business both running for office and getting elected while making smoke-filled backroom deals with their Corporate friends to create a system that ensures the power of the Government exists to preserve, protect and promote Private Capitalist profits. The definition of this practice: Fascism. Ergo, we live in a Fascist country.

  • "Punishing a community or a state for a particular law that passed is stupid." Uh, Mitch, I know you're getting old and aren't in the best health, but taking action based on politics is what's called "DEMOCRACY". The idea that words and actions have consequences, and that politicians should pay attention to what their constituents want (just like how companies pay attention to what their consumers want) is the most basic of ideals that our nation an society was based on. In fact, it's what the GOP used to claim they believed. Obviously that was either bullshit back then, or otherwise they've jettisoned that philosophy because they realize that nobody really likes them now, so democracy just isn't a thing they want to support. Not to mention they passed a law in the state that allows McConnell to select his replacement, instead of, you know, HAVING A VOTE AS IS REQUIRED BY THE CONSTITUTION.
