  • Any doctor who agrees with this law is immoral. If you are a doctor in Arkansas and work for a hospital and disagree with this law you should refuse treatment of straight patients using the excuse of being unsure of the patients sexuality. Especially if they are non life threatening money making procedures for your hospital.

  • Throwing a temper tandrum won't change anything. But if you read into the bill, it doesn't exclude anyone from recieving treatment for medical emergencies. What is does is simply allow providers to refuse to participate in procedures that may be questionable - such as giving children hormone blockers, permitting gender changes to people under a certain age, refusing to committ abortions under particular circumstances, etc. And frankly, you could go to other providers who are willing to go through with those procedures.

    • @Britt Barber Human rights are the basic fundamentals given to us in society. In no way is it a human right to allow a child to go through transgender therapy. Nor is it a human right to have an abortion unless perhaps the pregnancy is deemed life threatening.

The so-called "pro-life" don't care about the lives of those women at all. They only care about brainless cell tissue that cannot feel, emote, or have any semblance of sentient life.

The issues is whether or not a doctor's personal religious views should be allowed to influence treatment of a patient. The answer is no. It goes something like this "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." So, according to this, the law that was passed protects that religious liberty of people that might have a moral dilemma over a medical procedure. The law does not make the procedure illegal, just lets the medical professional opt out if they have a problem with, for instance, performing a gender transition on a child or an abortion. There is a name for making people do something they don't want to do...coercion. Are we really ok with forcing a person to do something, anything, they don't feel is right?

Have you completely missed all civil rights teachings in school? Did you not learn how morally and ethically WRONG it is to deny service to people because you "don't like their kind"??? Did you miss how we had massive social unrest and upheaval because of the legal discrimination that existed, and the numerous laws passed since to stop it? • Christianity is a religion that teaches its adherents the same God who loves you will set you on fire forever if you ever break any of his rules. I'm not trying to be edgy when I say I distrust the people who believe in that paradox to understand what love is.

    stecky87stecky875 ditë më parë
    • Invasive medical procedures that render the patient permanently infertile, undertaken with the full knowledge that it doesnt help most patients and a substantial portion of patients regret it afterwards probably ISNT best for the health of your patients.

Elisa WhitmanElisa Whitman6 ditë më parë
    • Arguably (though it's a bad faith argument), pacifism isn't a religion, so it wouldn't be afforded the same protections as Christian supremacy. Now, if you had a religion that has pacifism as a tenet of its belief structure and that justified the passive violence of denying care to others, it might...oh, who am I kidding? It's all about Christian supremacy, so of course such a law wouldn't protect practitioners of whatever religion I'm talking about.
